Title Update 6.1

game

Title Update 6.1 will be available December 10th, 2019. With it we will get the "Situation: Snowball" which contains the "Silent Night" apparel event.

When you sign on during the event you will receive a "Holiday Care" package that will include a santa hat and three apparel keys. Sadly, after the summer apparal event, there was outrage about color and fun, so we're back to black, grey and olive drab. Ho ho ho! Though I'm eyeing that Scavenger mining helmet. I'm sure we'll see everyone wearing the Reaper mask.

Previews of the four new outfits in the apparel event

And good news on the apparel event, even if the clothing is all deadly dull: no random key drops. With every third proficiency cache or fifth DZ cache earned you will get a key.

There will also be a novelty gun that which is a guaranteed drop from "The Hoarder," (a.k.a. the loot goblin. Why that unit isn't called "the courier" since he has an Amazon delivery style courier pack on is beyond me.) When you shoot this unit in the pack he will drop the "Sleigher", a gun that shoots snowballs that stun opponents. This sounds pretty silly, but if the stun effect counts as a status effect, there's some talent synergies that could be put to use in a clever build. Maybe.

Oh, and if you buy apparel keys, you can gift them to other plays. Merry Winter Holiday of Choice!

And in case you were hoping to unwrap a holiday present containing frustration and anxiety, the title update will offer "hardcore mode" with permadeath. You'll need to make a new character to participate (and have a free character slot, because why would the developers offer us an additional slot?) There will be no access to your stash but vanity items are available. If you die the character is lost. Oddly, I find the idea strangely appealing, at least in terms of presenting a new challenge.

Since the Last Maintenance

Kenly College is open until Thursday, Decemer 12th at 8 AM CET. If you really want Diamondback, an exotic rifle with a pretty gimmicky talent, that's one slightly tedious way to get it. Also, people who are chasing Shepherd ranks be aware that you'll get lots of call to help at Kenly. In this house, that means a lot of groaning.

And if you're a masochist, you can attempt the mastery challenges at Kenly. If you haven't tried them, it's basically a timed challenge with enemies pooping out grenades when they die. If that's your idea of fun, have at it.
